Guruji used to say: ‘Ashtanga practice is a breathing practice… the rest is just bending.’ The breath is the key to the the realm of tranquility and power and with it we can regulate and control our nervous system. The breath is the door between our body and our mind and the portal between meditation and asana practice. Breathing is our most fundamental and vital act.

Come to our studio and bring Yoga into your life. Meet us on the mat, breath, focus and calm your mind, gain strength, flexibility and self awareness. We propose classes in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga for complete beginners and 'drop in' classes for more experienced students. The classes are small, 10 persons maximum, which allows us to have more personal contact and guidance for each student. You can join us also for a Sunday morning workshop or on a weekend with international guest teachers. We hope to meet you in our Yoga studio in the middle of Antibes or in the Pilates studio in Valbonne- Sophia Antipolis on Wednesday evenings.

Ashtanga Yoga is an ancient system of Yoga with an unique way of vinyasa linking togehter movement and breath. The movement through a set sequence of poses (asanas) helps to realign the body and is responsable for creating internal heat; this allows the blood to circulate through all the joints and internal organs, removing impurities, which will exit the body through sweat. The sweat is both cleansing and purifying. The result of releasing toxins from muscules and organs is a healthy tone and flexible body. Breathing is vital to the practice of yoga because it helps to control the mind; if the breath is agitated the mind is agitated, if the breath is steady the the mind become focus and calm. The breath is the key to this system of yoga. It is called ujaji and its sound, volume and rhythm are very powerful. The three core techniques of Vinyasa, breath, bandhas (energy locks) and dristis (fous points), when applied together, bring about the physical and meditative aspects of Ashtanga Yoga. These principles underly the practice of Ashtanga Yoga and are responsable for creating a system that is known for its graceful, flowing sequences of transitions and postures ''woven on the thread of the breath''.
